Tumult in the Clouds – Fleeto and Wee Andy
When his friend is stabbed, Mackie joins a gang and takes a fatal act of random revenge. It leads him to confront the grieving mother of his victim. Fleeto is hard-hitting, contemporary and poetic. A Scottish re-invention of Greek tragic form.
Paddy Cuneen took Fleeto to be performed in workshops at Polmont Young Offenders’ Institute and out of that, Wee Andy was born.
Wee Andy runs parallel to events in ‘Fleeto’, using equally intense poetic language. It tells how a surgeon struggles to save Wee Andy’s brutally slashed face, and the extraordinary course of action the boy’s mother takes to protect him.
