Drawing inspiration from The Pine Tree by Hans Christian Andersen and several newspaper articles, The Foolish Flower tells the tale of a Kenyan carnation and its journey to the supermarket. The naïve flower knows that her beauty will feed the farmer’s family, but she is ignorant of any environmental implications. She anticipates gaining glory on the lapel of a groom, but she ends her life drooping in a bucket, with a sticker plastered over her to reduce her price.
